What are ResearchWikis?

ResearchWikis are research articles on most business topics. Our objective was to provide a low cost central site containing key information on many business topics with data that is most relevant to those looking for knowledge on specific industries. These include articles on broad industry topics such as insurance, paper or steel; sub-industry topics such as coffee through zinc mining; or even specific business areas such as beauty salons or textile machinery. Either enter a search topic or scan our main page to see the topics we cover.

What kind of information is contained in a ResearchWiki article?

The articles vary on the level of information they each contain but in general, they include industry information on the following: the background of the topic, market structure, market metrics or measurements, trends and recent developments and often data on major market players such as companies in the industry and data about whether the specific industry or market has been growing or contracting. You can click on the name of an article on the main page and look at the Table of Contents to see what information is contained for that specific article.

What is the source of the information?

The information is gathered almost exclusively from data provided in the public domain by the government. Data in chart or table form is often collected and displayed by our researchers into more easily readable sections and formats. Under no circumstances is the intention to gather data from third parties which may have rights to proprietary data. All reasonable attempts will be made to delete information which may have inadvertently been gathered from non-governmental third parties. In some cases, information may be gathered from companies which have displayed data on their web sites and report such information to government agencies such as the SEC or other agencies.

How recent is the data?

The intention is to provide the most recent data available on an industry. In many cases, public domain information from government agencies may have been gathered and assembled several years prior, but will still reflect the most recent data on a topic which our researchers can gather.

What if I need more info on a topic?

The goal of ResearchWikis™ is to provide baseline information on core business research topics. But if you need more information and have serious and complex research needs, we will be pleased to have one of our research affiliates contact you. In most cases, our professional research affiliates can only respond to requests which represent more complex research engagements. These types of requests may often require days, if not weeks, of research and may cost thousands of dollars. They are not, however, in a position to provide answers on single data line items. Our affiliates have a global reach and can address serious worldwide research requirements. Click on the box in the upper right of the main page to contact us with your research needs.
